Forecast: Rain, high 70; flash flood watch till Wednesday

The National Weather Service is calling for Tuesday to be rainy in the Baltimore area, with a high temperature near 70 degrees and north winds around 11 miles per hour. Rainfall amounts of 3/4 of the inch to 1 inch are possible.

A flash flood watch is in effect for the Baltimore-Washington metro area and southern Maryland at least until Wednesday afternoon.

A small craft advisory is in effect until 10 a.m. for much of the Chesapeake Bay and the lower tidal Potomac River. The small craft advisory continues for the upper and middle Chesapeake Bay areas through Tuesday and Tuesday night.

Tuesday night was expected to be rainy, with a low around 66 and east winds between 10 and 13 miles per hour. Rainfall amounts between half an inch and three quarters of an inch are possible.

Wednesday was expected to be rainy, with a high near 78 degrees and east winds around 9 miles per hour. Rainfall amounts between one quarter of an inch and half an inch are possible.

Wednesday night was expected to be rainy, with a low around 70 and east winds of 6 to 8 miles per hour. Rainfall amounts between one quarter of an inch and half an inch are possible.
