Trains stopped on Camden Line after truck hits Laurel overpass

Rail traffic was temporarily stopped along the Camden Line in Laurel after a tractor trailer became stuck in an underpass in Laurel, according to the Maryland Transit Administration.

The truck became stuck in the underpass that carries Main Street beneath the tracks, near its intersection with Lafayette Avenue and the Laurel MARC station.

A crew from CSX Transportation, which owns the rail line, responded to the scene to inspect the tracks for safety, the MTA said. The tracks had reopened by 7:15 p.m.

The closure impacted MARC service, including the No. 852 and No. 857 trains.

The line is a busy thoroughfare for both commuter and freight traffic.
