Incidents prompt lane closures during morning rush hour

Several incidents along local roadways caused lane closures during Wednesday's rainy commute, according to the state Department of Transportation.

All westbound traffic on MD 27 in Westminster is closed at MD 26 due to a utility problem at 5:32 a.m., DOT said.


A collision on U.S. 50 West in Parole at the MD 450 exit has closed the westbound left traffic lane at 8:09 a.m., DOT said.

A two-vehicle collision on the inner loop of Interstate 695 in Linthicum at the Baltimore Washington Parkway exit has closed the inner loop left traffic lane and inner loop left shoulder at 7:10 a.m., DOT said.


A utility problem on MD 70 North in Annapolis, north of Calvert Street, has closed the northbound right traffic lane and northbound right shoulder at 6:12 a.m., DOT said.

All lanes are open on I-97 in Crownsville and I-95 North in Baltimore City with the clearing of incidents, DOT said.

And the transportation department reported that a utility problem on U.S. 1 North at Main Street first reported on Tuesday morning continued to cause lane shutdowns on Wednesday. The incident has closed the northbound right traffic lane and northbound right shoulder, DOT said.

The Maryland Transit Administration reported minor MARC train delays at 8:20 a.m.
