Traffic: Accidents continue in Howard County, Arbutus in icy road conditions

Icy road conditions continue to play a role in a spate of accidents Tuesday morning, with Dorsey Run Road in Howard County among the areas most affected at the close of rush hour.

All traffic is shut down on MD 175 in Jessup at Dorsey Run Road due to a single-vehicle crash at 8:33 a.m., according to the state Department of Transportation. DOT reported another single-vehicle crash at MD 175 at Dorsey Run Road 8:55 a.m. that closed all eastbound traffic.

In Annapolis Junction, a three-vehicle collision on MD 32 east past Dorsey Run Road has close the eastbound left traffic lane and eastbound left shoulder at 5:21 a.m., DOT said.

A disabled vehicle on Interstate 95 North in Arbutus at I-195 closed the northbound right off-ramp lane and northbound right shoulder at 8:43 a.m., DOT said.

A seven-vehicle collision on I-195 East in Arbutus at Washington Boulevard has closed the eastbound right traffic lane and both eastbound shoulders at 6:12 a.m., DOT said.

And all southbound traffic on MD 152 in Harford County is closed due to emergency roadwork at Jerusalem Road that began on Monday evening, DOT said. The center turn lanes have been reversed, DOT said.

The Baltimore City Office of Emergency Management reported icy conditions and a crash at Key Highway and Covington Street at 6:34 a.m. Salt trucks are responding to the incident, OEM said.

Baltimore Washington Airport officials reported normal conditions at BWI Marshall Airport but warned motorists to use caution on airport roadways due to icy conditions.

The Baltimore City Department of Public Works said that street sweeping has been canceled Tuesday as crews assist with treating streets amid the icy conditions.

The Maryland Transit Administration reported minor delays on the local bus, light rail, commuter bus, mobility vehicles and MARC train at 9:08 a.m.
