Emergency roadwork on U.S. 40 East

Emergency roadwork on U.S. 40 East at North Ridge Road in Ellicott City has closed the left lane and left shoulder to eastbound traffic at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, according to the state Department of Transportation.

DOT also reported a single-vehicle crash on the outer loop of Interstate 695 in Linthicum at the Camp Meade Road exit at 8:35 a.m. The crash has closed the inner-loop left traffic lane and the inner-loop left shoulder, DOT said.

The Maryland Transportation Authority said that the Curtis Creek Drawbridge is scheduled to open at 6 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Thursday.

The Baltimore City Department of Public Works said that due to difficult road conditions street sweeping has been suspended for Thursday. DPW added that due to a power outage in Reservoir Hill some traffic lights are out. DPW said that motorists should treat intersections in the area as four-way stops.

The Maryland Transit Administration said that MARC Train 421 (8:10 a.m. Baltimore Departure) will operate with one fewer car than usual on Thursday. Boarding will cease when the train reaches capacity, MTA said.

MTA added at 7:56 a.m. that MARC Train 842 (7 a.m. Washington D.C. Departure) is moving again after being stopped south of Greenbelt due to a switch failure.
