All lanes are open on MD 175 in Jessup on Tuesday with the clearing of a single-vehicle crash past Wigley Avenue on Monday night, according to the state and local officials.
Anne Arundel County Police said that at approximately 10:30 p.m., officers responding to Route 175 and Wigley Avenue for a report of an accident found that a Ford Focus had crashed into a pole. Officials said the leaning pole prompted closure of the roadway. The driver suffered minor injuries, said police, who added that some power outages were reported from the incident.
The state Department of Transportation reported the road closed soon at 12:51 a.m. and said the road remained closed throughout rush hour before reopening around 11:30 a.m.
The Anne Arundel Public Schools on Tuesday morning said Jessup Elementary School on MD 175 was closed Tuesday as the crash blocked access to the school.
