A two-vehicle collision on the outer loop of Interstate 695 at Old Court Road in Lochearn has closed the outer loop left traffic lane and outer loop left shoulder at 8:45 a.m. on Friday, according to the state Department of Transportation.
The inner loop left shoulder is also closed due to the incident, DOT said.
The State Highway Administration said that emergency roadwork on eastbound I-70 in Howard County begins at 9 a.m. on Friday.
The Maryland Transit Administration reported minor delays on the MARC train at 9:08 a.m. Earlier Friday, Penn Line service had been temporarily suspended due to a downed catenary wire in Bowie, MTA said.
MTA added that MARC Train 523 (8:10am Perryville departure) will originate in Baltimore due to equipment problems stemming from the delay of MARC Train 502, which terminated in Baltimore. Southbound passengers at stations north of Baltimore will be accommodated by Amtrak Train 181, MTA said.
