FREDERICK, Md. (AP) — A jury in Frederick has sentenced a man to life in prison in the strangling death of his neighbor. Fifty-three-year-old Antwine Snowden was sentenced Thursday in the death of 61-year-old Gloria Fitzpatrick.
Fitzpatrick was found dead in her apartment above Snowden's in Frederick in April 2013. Prosecutors say DNA found on Fitzpatrick's neck pointed to Snowden as the killer.
An analysis indicated only that the DNA was from a male member of Snowden's family. Prosecutors stood by the DNA evidence, which they tied together with phone records from Snowden's family members showing that he was the only man in his family near the apartment complex at the time of the killing.
Snowden will be taken from the Frederick County Adult Detention Center to a state prison.
