Baltimore investigators told television stations in San Antonio, Texas, they believe the killing took place two days earlier, and said Morales was last seen in the early morning hours of Oct. 3 in the 1600 block of Aliceanna St.

Parodi was a longtime and popular waitress at the upscale Italian restaurant Pazo, located a few blocks from her home. A co-worker called police after not hearing from Parodi for a few days.

Police believe that Morales — who worked at another restaurant in Harbor East — and Parodi were in a relationship. Detectives think Morales and Parodi got into a dispute before she was killed.

Authorities would not say why they believe Morales may have fled to San Antonio.
