BWI-bound plane from Dallas returned after potential engine problem

A Southwest Airlines plane headed to Baltimore from Dallas returned Saturday because of a potential engine problem.

Flight 3390 from Dallas Love Field to Baltimore-Washington Thurgood Marshall International Airport took off about 9:45 a.m. but the captain flew it back shortly after take-off. A Southwest spokesman said "a potential mechanical issue" that involved one of the aircraft's two engines was the reason.

The plane, a Boeing 737, has been temporarily removed from service for maintenance, he said. The 134 passengers were put on a different plane and arrived in Baltimore a few hours behind schedule.
