38 arrested in Anne Arundel warrant sweep

The Anne Arundel County Sheriff's office arrested 38 people Sunday morning in an effort to reduce the number of outstanding warrants in the county.

In the "Sheriff's Survivors Sweep," 50 sheriff's deputies began knocking on doors at 5 a.m. to arrest residents who were wanted for everything from traffic violations to burglary charges, according to a press release by the sheriff's office.

Ten of those who were arrested had more than one warrant against them. The majority of the warrants were for less serious crimes.
