All MARC train service on the Penn Line was restored Thursday afternoon after temporarily being suspended because of police activity in Baltimore, according to the Maryland Transit Administration.
Service on the Baltimore-Washington line was suspended for about 40 minutes, and restored about 4:15 p.m., after a man trespassing on tracks south of Penn Station was struck by a MARC equipment train, said Paul Shepard, a MTA spokesman.
The man was transported to Maryland Shock Trauma Center with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries, Shepard said.
Shepard said delays were not expected, though Train 634 from Washington to Baltimore had been canceled.
Christina Leeds, an Amtrak spokeswoman, said Amtrak, which operates on the same tracks, began running trains through the area again about 4:01 p.m. and also does not expect significant delays through the afternoon commute.
"There is some congestion but it should work out pretty quickly," she said.
Commuters' tickets for the Penn Line are honored on the Camden Line, the MTA said.
