A Westminster man has been charged with stabbing and wounding another man in Ocean City after an argument turned violent on Sunday.
Joseph L. Rodriguez, 23, has been charged with first degree assault, second degree assault, reckless endangerment and possession of a weapon with intent to injure, according to a release issued by the Ocean City Police Department.
The victim, a 29-year-old man who lives in Sterling, Virginia, suffered minor injuries after a quarrel broke out at about 10 p.m. Sunday near 49th Street in Ocean City. The initial confrontation ended peacefully, with all the men involved going their separate ways, according to police.
But, after the victim had walked about a block, a car pulled up containing several men from the original incident, and they began fighting again. Rodriguez allegedly stabbed the Virginia man with a knife, police said, then jumped in his car and drove away.
He later was arrested without incident after his car was stopped near 3rd Street and Philadelphia Avenue.
The victim was being treated for his injuries at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.
