A commuter train crash in New Jersey Thursday morning is not expected to impact Amtrak's Northeast Corridor that runs through Baltimore, a railroad spokeswoman said.

A commuter train crash that killed at least one person in New Jersey Thursday morning is not expected to impact Amtrak's Northeast Corridor that runs through Baltimore, a railroad spokeswoman said.

Television footage and photos showed extensive damage to the Hoboken, N.J., station, where the crash occurred during the morning rush hour.

Rail service was suspended in and out of Hoboken, which is directly across the Hudson River from New York City.

"This is not an Amtrak-owned infrastructure (not our tracks) and there are no impacts to Amtrak service," Amtrak spokeswoman Chelsea Kopta said in an emailed statement.
