All Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration offices and vehicle emissions inspection stations will be closed Saturday for computer system upgrades, the agency announced.
The MVA’s eStore and online transactions will be unavailable from 9 p.m. Friday until noon Saturday for the upgrades, but the 10 self-service emissions kiosks will remain in operation.
The agency recently expanded the hours at its eight highest volume branches to help address long wait times caused by a tenfold increase in customers seeking to renew their licenses and update their documents in compliance with the federal REAL ID Act before the October 2020 deadline.
The MVA guarantees a wait of no longer than 15 minutes for who make appointments online in advance.
