A 42-year-old Washington County man was killed early Saturday evening after a mowing tractor he was riding rolled over pinning him beneath the mower.
Terry Verdier, who lived in the 22200 block of Jefferson Road in Smithsburg, was using a zero-turn style mower at the time of the accident.
While cutting grass on a hillside, the tractor rolled over, pinning Verdier beneath it for an undetermined amount of time, according to Maryland State Police, who were called to the scene shortly after 8 p.m.
Verdier was taken to Meritus Medical Center Hagerstown, where he was pronounced dead.
