Amber Alert canceled: Montgomery Co. man who abducted baby turns himself in

An armed man who abducted his 5-month-old daughter in Montgomery County Tuesday, triggering a statewide Amber Alert, later turned himself in to authorities, officials said.

The child, Drew Marie Denny, was wearing pajamas at about 3:17 p.m. when her father Deare Marquis Denny, carrying a handgun, took her from the home in the 19000 block of Hempstone Ave. in Poolesville, police said.

Montgomery County police requested State Police assistance, and an Amber Alert went out at 7:15 p.m. The all-clear was issued at about 9:13 p.m.
