Missing Maryland student Kaitlyn George found in Houston, police say

Police said Maryland student Kaitlyn George, 21, has been found safely at a Houston restaurant. (WJZ)

A University of Maryland student missing since Thursday evening was found Wednesday, university police said.

Police said Kaitlyn George, 21, was found alone and safe "at a fast food restaurant in Houston, Texas." University of Maryland Police got a call shortly before 8 a.m. Wednesday from Houston police that she had been located safely.

Police said Tuesday night George was filmed by a security camera boarding a bus in Baltimore that was traveling to Washington, D.C., and Virginia.

Officers have no reason to suspect she is the victim of a crime, police said.

The bus she boarded on Friday was scheduled to stop in Washington, D.C., Richmond and Hampton before Norfolk.

A friend reported George missing after she failed to show up at the Eppley Recreation Center on the school's College Park campus for a hiking trip, police said.
