The state has revealed how prospective medical cannabis growers and processors ranked in an evaluation process, but has not offered details of how the rankings were determined.
When the state announced preliminary licenses for growers and processors earlier this month, the winning companies were listed in alphabetical order.
Fifteen licenses were awarded in each category based on a ranking given by an independent review of the applications that were stripped of identifying information.
The commission strayed from the rankings in two cases, to bump up two grower applicants – Holistic Industries of Prince George's County and Shore Naturals Rx of Worcester County -- into the top 15 to achieve a better geographic balance.
Here's how the companies ranked, according to information posted this week by the state cannabis commission.
