A slab of rock bearing the impression of a hatchling armored dinosaur that drowned in wetlands 110 million years ago. The fossil was found in Prince George’s County streambed, in 1997, by amateur archaeologist Ray Stanford, of College Park. The first hatchling dinosaur ever found in the Eastern United States, it has been named Propanoplosaurus marylandicus in a paper published this month in the Journal of Paleontology.
