A pedestrian was struck and killed by a MARC train Saturday while standing on the tracks near Halethorpe Station, the Maryland Transportation Administration said.
MTA said that the incident occurred shortly before noon and involved MARC train 481, which was carrying about 300 passengers when the incident occurred. The passengers were transferred to an Amtrak train, MTA said.
The victim has not been identified, MTA said, who said that Baltimore County Police are investigating the incident. Baltimore County Police said it was an apparent suicide by a woman. No further details were provided.
