BWI Light Rail stations to close from Oct. 7-11

The BWI Business District and BWI Airport Light Rail stations will close from Oct. 7-11 to allow crews to replace a grade crossing at Andover Road, the Maryland Transit Administration announced Thursday.

The MTA will provide free shuttle buses for passengers between the North Linthicum station and the BWI Airport station, with stops at the Linthicum and BWI Business District stations.

The buses will run during normal Light Rail service hours from 6 p.m. on Oct. 7 until 1 a.m. on Oct. 11.

The MTA said signs would be posted and MTA employees would be deployed to the stations to inform passengers about the closure and direct them to the shuttle buses.

"This track work will help increase the safety, efficiency and reliability of the Light Rail system," the MTA said in a news release.
