Light rail delays between North Ave. and Falls Road through Tuesday

Passengers taking the light rail should expect delays as crews work to restore full service between the North Avenue and Falls Road stations through Tuesday, state transportation officials say.

A fallen tree knocked out overhead wires affecting that stretch Sunday afternoon, said Maryland Transit Administration spokesman Terry Owens. A bus has been transporting riders there, and officials expect a partial restoration of light-rail service later today.

"Repair crews have been working diligently," Owens said. "The service will be open, but ... passengers should anticipate delays of 10 to 15 minutes."
