Two teenagers escape from Parkville juvenile detention center

Two 17-year-olds escaped from a juvenile detention center in Baltimore County Monday afternoon by scaling a fence and fleeing into the woods, Maryland State Police said

State Police responded to the Charles H. Hickey School on Old Harford Road in Parkville just before 5 p.m. They searched the woods in the area of Notchcliff Road, where the minors had disappeared, with aviation and K9 units for the two students. Police said both are Hispanic males — one, 5-foot-6 and 160 pounds; the other, 6-foot and 156 pounds.

One was caught at about 10:18 p.m. in the area of Waltham Woods Road and taken to a hospital for injuries that happened during the escape.

Anyone with information on the other minor's whereabouts may call Maryland State Police, Golden Ring Barrack at 410-780-2700.

Last year, a 29-year-old Department of Juvenile Services employee and her 39-year-old boyfriend were arrested after shots were fired in the Hickey School parking lot.
