Traffic: Southbound JFX blocked; Route 29 flooded

There is an accident on the southbound side of Interstate 83 near the Union Avenue overpass, by the Pepsi sign, police said.

Traffic is backed up going south on the highway for at least a mile, and northbound traffic is slow.

North of Columbia, U.S. Route 29 at Maryland Route 175 is closed going south because of flooding. The northbound lanes are open.

Southbound Interstate 95 is extremely slow going into the Capital Beltway because of an accident earlier in the day.
