TAYLORS ISLAND, Md. — Maryland State Police say a private helicopter landed in shallow water just off the Dorchester County shore. The two men aboard were not hurt.

It happened about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in Taylors Island on the Eastern Shore. Troopers say the pilot, 45-year-old Vincent Giglio of New Jersey, experienced a mechanical problem with the helicopter and radioed a distress call.
