ELKTON, Md. (AP) —Two people were found dead after a house fire in Cecil County, authorities said.
The Office of the State Fire Marshal said in a news release that the fire was reported late Monday in Elkton. Fifty firefighters from several companies battled the blaze in the single-family house for three hours, officials said.
One person's body was found during firefighting efforts, and the second body was found Tuesday while the site was being checked by investigators, authorities said.
The bodies have been taken to the State Medical Examiner's Office in Baltimore for identification and to determine the cause and manner of death. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
