A bail hearing for the Beltsville man accused in a string of random shootings around the region has been postponed until Monday.
Hong Young, who is charged with attempted first-degree murder for firing at a vehicle driven by a 61-year-old man near the Arundel Mills mall. He was expected to appear in Annapolis District court Friday but the hearing was rescheduled because courthouse remained closed Friday after Thursday's snowstorm.
Young, 35, faces additional charges in other jurisdictions for shootings, including on the Intercounty Connector, in which two people were injured. Police said he is also responsible for a shooting near a building affiliated with the National Security Agency at Fort Meade, as well as at a Wal-Mart in Laurel and the AMC Theatres at The Mall in Columbia. Detectives are also investigating whether he shot at the Maryland Live casino at Arundel Mills.
In addition to Anne Arundel County, circuit and district courts in the city, Baltimore, Howard and Carroll counties remained closed Friday. Harford County Circuit and District Courts are scheduled to open at 10 a.m.
The Court of Appeals and the Court of Special Appeals are scheduled to open at 9 a.m.
