Four displaced by fire in Columbia

Four people were displaced by a house fire in Columbia Sunday.

Howard County Department of Fire & Rescue Services responded to the house, located in the 5500 block of High Tor Hill in Columbia, at about 3:30 p.m. to find heavy fire.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze after about an hour, but the immediate area along High Tor Hill remained closed as of 5 p.m.

No injuries were reported. American Red Cross assistance has been requested for the displaced residents.

The origin and cause of the fire are under investigation.
