A suspected bank robber fleeing from the Timonium Wells Fargo Bank was struck by a responding police car as he attempted to run, the department said.
Police said the suspect entered the bank in the 2100 block of York Road several times before finally passing a teller a note and left with cash around 5 p.m. Friday. Officers responding to the bank attempted to interview him but he fled from them on foot. At that point, police said, the suspect "ran into the path of a responding police car and was struck by the vehicle causing injuries to one of his legs."
He was arrested on nearby Aylesbury Road and taken to an area hospital, where he remains in stable condition.
Police had not identified the suspect Saturday night but said he will be charged in the incident when he is released from the hospital.
Police said he has two additional arrest warrants from other jurisdictions.
