The creators of the "Serial" podcast are going on tour and have scheduled two events that will take fans behind the scenes into last year's groundbreaking investigative series — which was downloaded more than 76 million times — regarding a Baltimore murder.
Former Baltimore Sun reporter Sarah Koenig the narrator and radio producer behind Serial, as well as co-executive producer Julie Snyder will host "An Evening with the Creators of Serial" on June 6 at the Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts Filene Center in Virginia.
"DC and Baltimore area fans: Sarah Koenig and Julie Snyder are coming to you!" said a notice posted on Serial's Facebook page.
"In their live presentation, Sarah Koenig and Julie Snyder will take you backstage in the creation of this cultural phenomenon," the event's web page said. "Using some of their favorite tape, they'll tell personal behind-the-scenes stories, explain how they constructed certain episodes, and allow the audience to follow the ups and downs of creating a new form of modern journalism."
Koenig was recently named one of 2015's 100 Most Influential People by "TIME" magazine.
Tickets for the event cost between $25 and $45 and are available online through the Wolf Trap center's website. The pair are also hosting a similar even on June 10 in Hartford, Conn., Serial's Facebook page said.
