Montgomery County police are searching two parks for the body of an 11-year-old boy who's been missing for two weeks and whose mother was found slain Wednesday night.
Police spokesman Capt. Paul Starks said police and volunteers are searching Damascus Regional Park and Little Bennett Regional Park for the body of William McQuain.
Starks said investigators had received leads that suggested McQuain's body may be located in a wooded area in one of the parks. He declined to be more specific but said the search did not mean that police were sure the boy is dead. Police dogs and mounted units were involved in the search.
McQuain's mother, Jane McQuain, was beaten and stabbed to death inside her Germantown home. Her estranged husband has been charged in the slaying.
