RISING SUN, Md. (AP) — A man is dead and another person is injured after a motorcycle wreck in Cecil County.
Maryland state police say the wreck occurred at about 1 p.m. on Friday when 63-year-old Owen Lane was riding his motorcycle on U.S. Route 1 near Connelly Road and applied his breaks after a van pulled in front of him. Police say Lane lost control of the bike, which fell onto its side and ejected him and his passenger, Iona Lane.
Police say Owen Lane was pronounced dead on the scene, and Iona Lane was airlifted to a hospital where she is listed in critical condition.
The van driver was uninjured in the wreck, and no charges have been filed.
