The victim in a Westminster shed explosion has died from his injuries, officials said.
Bernard Toporzycki, 56, died Tuesday afternoon at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, according to Deputy State Fire Marshal Bruce D. Bouch. Toporzycki received second- and third-degree burns and other injuries after entering a shed Saturday morning on the rear of his property in the 200 block of Sullivan Road.
Bouch said the cause of the explosion remains under investigation, but appears to be accidental. Eleven homes were damaged in the blast.
Officials have said the 12-by-18-foot structure exploded when Toporzycki entered it around 5:45 a.m.
