The front landing gear of a departing Southwest Airlines plane was damaged Thursday night while leaving the gate, a spokesman for Baltimore Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport said.
No one among the 126 passengers and five crew was injured in the "maintenance incident," which brought BWI fire and rescue, as well as airport operations personnel to the scene.
Southwest said passengers will be put on another plane to Atlanta, after a delay of about four hours from the original departure time. The airline said a technical operations team would inspect the plane and no other flights at BWI would be affected.
