Motorists report bus swerving erratically, leading to DUI arrest

Motorists alerted police to a bus driver who was driving erratically on the Baltimore Beltway around noon Friday, leading to her arrest for DUI, Maryland State Police said.

Pamelia L. Willie, 52, of Randallstown, was charged wtih 23 traffic violations after drivers told police she was swerving and running cars off the outer loop of I-695 in Brooklandville, police said.

Troopers found the orange bus near the Falls Road exit and closed off traffic until they could stop the vehicle on the left shoulder. No vehicles are believed to have been struck, police said.

Willie was driving the empty bus to pick up students from a private school in Montgomery County for a field trip to Washington, police said. There were four containers of beer and liquor on the bus, police said.

The bus was registered to Mr. Tim's Bus Rides of Owings Mills, Md., and the owner picked up the bus at the scene, police said.

Willie, who had a valid commercial vehicle driver's license, was charged with various impaired and negligent driving infractions, police said, and she was released to a sober driver.
