Five shot in Baltimore Friday night and Saturday, one dead

Five men were shot in Baltimore Friday night and Saturday, including a man found dead in a van that crashed into the front porch of a home and another who was critically wounded while delivering food, police said.

In the Sandtown-Winchester neighborhood about 2:45 p.m. Saturday, police found a van that had run into the porch of a house in the 1800 block of Presstman Street after residents called to report hearing shots fired. Inside the van was a man who had been shot multiple times in the head and upper torso, police said. He was pronounced dead at a hospital shortly after. Police believe he was shot about a block away from where the van crashed.

Another man was shot in a separate incident on Saturday about 4:15 p.m. in what police believe may have been a robbery. The man was shot in the 1800 block of Edmonson Avenue in the Harlem Park neighborhood and is expected to survive.

On Friday shortly before 10 p.m., a 25-year-old man – believed to be delivering food – was found in the 1600 block of E. 25th Street in the Darley Park neighborhood with a gunshot wound to his chest. Homicide detectives were called to the scene due to the severity of the man's injuries. Police said he was in critical condition Saturday.

Two men were shot in another incident Friday night. One of the victims was listed in critical condition Saturday and the other was expected to survive. Police said the two men were shot while walking in the 1500 block of W. Fayette Street in the Franklin Square neighborhood about 9 p.m. One was shot multiple times, the other was shot in the leg.
