Three Washington-area men suspected of stealing from a Severna Park game store were arrested Sunday night after a chase involving police from three jurisdictions, a canine unit and a helicopter.

Anne Arundel County police responded to an alarm shortly after 6 p.m. Sunday at the GameStop in the 500 block of Ritchie Highway in Severna Park. Three men reportedly entered the store and took several Xbox and PlayStation consoles.

A county police helicopter reported seeing the suspects' vehicle heading west on U.S. Route 50 with its lights out. After entering Prince George's County, the occupants bailed out of the car and fled on foot, police said. With the helicopter's aid, an Anne Arundel K9 unit, state police troopers and officers from Prince George's County proceeded to where the suspects had last been seen.

Police said one man was arrested near the vehicle while the other two were taken into custody after allegedly fleeing into a residence.

The video games systems, with an estimated value of over $3,000, were recovered.

Charged with theft and other related charges, police said, were Devonte Jermaine Brooks, 20, of Washington, Sammie David Smith, 21, of Hyattsville, and Samuel Cordell Whitmire, 20, of Temple Hills.
