Man shot in East Baltimore

A man was shot in the leg early Thursday near the intersection of Pulaski Highway and North Highland Avenue in East Baltimore, police said.

The non-fatal shooting occurred in the in the Ellwood Park/Monument neighborhood, police said.

At about 3 a.m. officers responded to an area hospital following a report of a walk-in shooting victim.

The victim, a black man, told police he was in the 400 block of N. Bouldin St. when three black men he did not know approached him. One of the men began shooting at the victim and hit his leg, police said.

The victim "became uncooperative" with investigators and a motive has not been determined, police said. Detectives later established the crime scene in the 3200 block of Jefferson Street, around the corner from the 400 block of North Bouldin.

The shooting is being investigated. Anyone with information should contact police at 410-396-2422.
