A Delaware man died following a boating accident Friday evening in Cecil County, Maryland Natural Resources Police said.
Robert Vernon Baron, 27, of Bear, Del., fell into the water after jumping from a docking boat onto a pier in Chesapeake City, according to police. The accident occurred around 8:25 p.m. Friday at the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal.
Two other people could not find Baron after jumping into the water after him, police said. His body was recovered by divers around 10:15 p.m. and taken to the medical examiner's office in Baltimore.
Officials say this is the tenth boating fatality of the year in Maryland.
