Anne Arundel County police arrested a man who was drunk and impersonating a police officer at a Glen Burnie dollar store Wednesday.
Larry Jones, 59, of the 8200 block of Champion Court in Pasadena was charged with impersonating a police officer and DWI, after witnesses at the store said he flashed a badge, handcuffs and claimed to be searching for a missing girl.
He was wearing civilian attire, smelled of alcohol, and had left the Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard store in a black Hyundai, the witnesses told the responding officers.
Police found the vehicle on Mountain Road and Long Hill Road with Jones inside. Police said they smelled alcohol and conducted several field sobriety tests before arresting Jones. The officers did not find a badge or handcuffs in the car.
Jones did not have an attorney listed in online court records.
