Elderly woman pulled from burning Hanover home

Anne Arundel County firefighters pulled an elderly woman from a Hanover home that caught fire Saturday.

The woman, who is in her 70s, was taken to Baltimore Washington Medical Center with life-threatening injuries after she was rescued from a home in the 7600 block of Post Road shortly after 12:30 p.m., Anne Arundel County fire officials said. Firefighters found heavy smoke pouring from all windows the single story, single family home. They searched the home and found her unconscious.

Officials said 82-year-old man and a firefighter were also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Forty-seven firefighters from Anne Arundel and Howard Counties, Baltimore Washington International Airport and Fort Meade placed under control in about 45 minutes, officials said.

The cause remains under investigation.
