Md. man dies from shooting by Indiana store clerk

JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. — Authorities say a 21-year-old Maryland man has died from gunshot wounds he suffered while trying to rob a southern Indiana convenience store.

The coroner's office in Louisville, Ky., says Terry Wilson of Baltimore died Saturday, two days after he was shot by a clerk at the Q Mart Convenience Store in Jeffersonville. The Courier-Journal reports Wilson died from multiple gunshot wounds.

Police say Wilson and another man had their faces covered by bandanas when they entered the store. Jeffersonville police Detective Todd Hollis tells The News and Tribune that Wilson had a gun and investigators believe the clerk fired in self-defense.

Authorities report Wilson's foster mother says he was in the area visiting friends.
