Anne Arundel County police have arrested a 26-year-old man after a woman was punched and robbed in the Annapolis Mall.
Shortly before noon Saturday, a 58-year-old Annapolis woman was shopping at the JCPenney store. While in the store's shoe section, a man approached her and began a conversation, police said. The man then "aggressively attacked her," punching her in the face, and robbed her of her purse, according to police.
The man began to run from the scene, and a group of people who had witnessed the attack chased after him, police said. Officers also flooded the area, and the man was caught on Jennifer Road.
Police say they've arrested Aaron Lamont Gray, 26, of Grasonville, on charges of robbery, theft, false statement and assault.
