York Road closed in both directions between Thornton Mill Road and Phoenix Road around 2:22 p.m. on Friday due to an accident in which a tractor trailer overturned. No one was injured and no other vehicles were involved in the incident, Baltimore County Police reported.
Baltimore County Police Cpl. John Wachter said Friday afternoon that after the tractor trailed flipped on its side on York Road, fuel leaked from the vehicle.
Wachter said the road will be shut down for at least a couple hours while crews clean up the spill and officials investigate the accident.
"This will go well into rush hour, if not past it," Wachter said.
Police are advising people to avoid the area. No additional information was available.
The stretch of road shut down on Friday is the same stretch that was closed for nearly a week in June due to a water main break.
