Baltimore County Police said the boy hit by a car Friday afternoon on York Road in Towson is a 12-year-old Dumbarton Middle student, though police could not provide his identity Monday.

Cpl. John Wachter, a spokesman for Baltimore County Police, said the student was crossing York Road at a crosswalk at Overbrook Road when he was hit by a Toyota Corolla that was traveling north.

Police said the boy was taken to Hopkins Hospital with serious injuries, and Wachter said there was no update on his condition Monday.

Wachter said the driver of the Corolla remained at the scene, and the State's Attorney's office will determine whether charges will be filed when the crash team completes its investigation.
