Diamonds stolen in Towson smash-and-grab

Thieves made off with more than $100,000 in diamonds in a smash and grab on Dec. 18 at the Towson location of Jared Galleria of Jewelry, according to police reports.

The reports state that four men entered the store in the 1200 block of Putty Hill Avenue at 9:05 p.m., when the store was open for holiday hours. Two witnesses told police who responded at 9:07 p.m. that the men went to the back of the store and smashed a case filled with diamonds with hammers they had hidden under their jackets, according to Elise Armacost, spokeswoman for the Baltimore County Police Department.
