The school system traditionally builds seven "snow days" into its annual school calendar, and received a waiver from the state for 15.5 hours. The state requires the school system to provide 180 days of instruction.

The county Board of Education voted Thursday to retool the schedule after adjusting for instructional days and hours lost to inclement winter weather, school system officials said in a press release Wednesday.
