Baltimore County to announce new recycling program in 12 parks

Baltimore County is starting a recycling collection program at 12 county parks.

County Executive Kevin Kamenetz will announce the new program Tuesday at Meadowood Regional Park, 10650, Falls Road in Lutherville, as part of his Clean Green County initiative, the county said in a press release Monday.

The $44,000 effort will include supplying recycling containers to Banneker Historical Park and Museum, Eastern Regional Park, Honeygo Regional Park, Marshy Point Nature Center, Meadowood Regional Park, Northwest Regional Park, Reisterstown Regional Park, Center for Maryland Agriculture and Farm Park, Oregon Ridge Lodge and Nature Center, Robert E Lee Park, Loch Raven Fishing Center and Rocky Point Beach and Park.

Other officials expected to be on hand for the announcement include Chris McCollum, executive director of agricultural, nature and special facilities in the county Department of Recreation and Parks; Charlie Reighart, the county's recycling and waste prevention manager; and Beahta Davis, county chief of recreation programming. County Council members and state legislators have been invited.
