Charm City Ballet in Cockeysville, a Baltimore County-based performance company, hosted master classes with Wendy Whelan , a 30-year member of NYC Ballet dancing virtually every major Balanchine role and working closely with famed choreographer Jerome Robbins on many of his ballets.
In 2008 she was hailed by the New York Times as the greatest contemporary ballerina. She has been a guest artist of the Kirov and Royal ballets. Since 2013 she has been developing her own independent collaborations. A documentary film entitled "Restless Creature: Wendy Whelan," was released in theaters across the country in 2017 and is now available on Netflix, iTunes and Amazon. Whelan taught two master classes.
